Why should we be worried about the world's population? It has nothing to do with the amount of space seven billion people take up. The worry is about how to take care of everyone properly. About 13 percent of the world's population don't even have clean water to drink, while 38 percent lack proper sanitation. Finding this balance between people and resources is more complicated than just making rules. Some countries are seeing fewer births, but they are using more resources. Others have high birthrates but little access to resources. What is the solution? Experts are undecided at the present time. One thing we do know for sure, caring for the Earth's population is going to take worldwide cooperation. (本文節錄自《常春藤生活英語》雜誌,完整內容請見三月號。)
